An Update from Principal Drummond 9/20/26
Dear Hill Community, We hope you have a nice three-day weekend with your students. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow (Monday, 9/21). We look forward to seeing everyone again on Tuesday. It is Teaching Assistants Appreciation Week at Hill School! Thank you to our Special Education and Pre-K Teacher Assistants that support our students and staff each day in so many ways. Thanks for showing them love this week!

Dear Hill Community, We are excited for International Reading Week at Hill! See the next paragraph for all you need to know, including how to volunteer and have your student(s) participate in the annual Hill Heritage Parade this Friday. This is an amazing annual event at Hill that gets bigger each year! Thank you to our volunteers and families that make it possible.

Dear Hill Community, We hope everyone has a nice three-day weekend! As a reminder, Hill School is closed this Monday, September 7th for a student and staff holiday. We have also been made aware that some folks may be confused with holidays and conference days this year, as several changed from the first calendar draft for AISD. An Update from Principal Drummond 8/30/26
Dear Hill Community, This week, we invite all of our 1st through 5th grade parents/guardians to our annual Back to School Night event this Thursday, September 3rd from 5:30-7:00 pm. We will begin with introductions from Principal Drummond and PTA in the cafeteria. At 6:00 pm, you will be released to go to your teacher’s classroom for a presentation. Be on the lookout for more information from your teachers if they may be presenting in alternate spaces or together as teams. This is an adults only event.

Dear Hill Community, It was an excellent first week of learning at Hill School! We were so proud of the example our older Dillos set for our younger ones. We also appreciate our community’s patience during arrival and dismissal times as everyone figures out their new routines. And Dillo Cheer for our new group of Safety Patrol 5th graders as they took on their new roles!

Dear Hill Community, We are excited to kick off an amazing school year this Tuesday! As a reminder, there is no school this Monday, August 17th as our staff prepare to welcome our Dillos. Thank you to everyone who came out this past Friday for our Meet the Teacher event where we loved welcoming our community back. We hope this letter prepares you with everything you need for next week.
An Update from Principal Drummond 5/24/26
Dear Hill Community, We hope everyone enjoys their three-day weekend! There is no school tomorrow (5/25) as Austin ISD is closed for Memorial Day. The last day of school is this Thursday! If you have not yet done so, please ensure you turn in your library books tomorrow to your teacher as the deadline is passed. We will have periodic emails over the summer, but this will be our last scheduled weekly communication for now. We of course will communicate as needed. Dillo Cheer to the end of a very successful school year!

Dear Hill Community, We are about to begin our last full week of school this spring! As a reminder, there is no school Monday, May 25th for a student and staff holiday. We know our community is awaiting more information regarding budget updates for the 26-27 school year that may affect Hill School. We have previously shared information that can be found here from AISD. Once we have further information to share that is updated and appropriate, we will certainly do so. Dear Hill Community, We hope all the moms are having a special Mother’s Day today! We appreciate you and all you do. “Climb Up for Kindness” Dress-Up Day is this Friday, May 15th. We will celebrate rising together through kindness. Like climbing a mountain, every kind act helps us reach higher-building empathy, respect, and strong character along the way. Students can dress in climbing or adventure clothing/gear!

Dear Hill Community, We want to recognize our Volunteer of the Year Anna Ansari! Anna supports us in numerous ways, from supporting our front office to being our CAC Co-Chair. Dillo Cheer to her and her support of our campus. And thank you to all the volunteers who have supported us so far this year! Our school is a true community school.
An Update from Principal Drummond 4/19/26
Dear Hill Community, We finish STAAR testing this week as all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking STAAR Math on Wednesday, April 22nd. Thank you all for setting your students up for success the night before and the morning of. We will dismiss from the assembly promptly on that day just after 7:35 am. We know they are ready to show us all they have learned!
