An Update from Principal Drummond 4/28/24

Dear Hill Community,  We move into the busy month of May this week! On Friday, our students participating will perform our annual Hill Musical for our school and then families at night. We are proud of them and thankful to our music teachers who have readied them for this fun event.

Dear Hill Community, This week we celebrate Office Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you to Erica Martindale, Jessie Rupert, Krishna Springer, Linda Glass, and Teresa Carroll for keeping our school running each day. They are an incredible group we are lucky to have! It is also Volunteer Appreciation Week. At Hill School, this group is too big to list! Whether you volunteer weekly on campus, support planning of our big events, lead our PTA, or help in numerous other ways, know that we appreciate you. Our supportive community is what makes this a special place for our Dillos!

An Update from Principal Drummond 4/14/24

Dear Hill Community, STAAR testing begins tomorrow for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. We are so proud of the hard work our students have put in. We can’t thank our teachers enough for all the preparation they have done this year and in years prior to ready them.

An Update from Principal Drummond 4/7/24

Dear Hill Community, Thank you to all of our volunteers who made our Hill Hoopla fundraiser a huge success on Friday! This is a huge undertaking and this amazing community makes it possible. We also want to acknowledge the Hill Elementary Dillos team members from our community that ran in the Cap10K today! We have another exciting event tomorrow with the Total Eclipse taking place. Please refer to the Eclipse Letter sent on 4/2 for the information you need for tomorrow.

Dear Hill Community,  We hope you are enjoying a nice, long weekend. This week at Hill we celebrate Librarian and Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! Thank you to Jennifer Moore and Terri Kogel-Banda for the incredible program they run to create a love of reading at Hill School. Thank you to Dr. Nancy Martinez and Ellana Selig for their leadership and support of our entire campus community. We have an amazing team of educators here at Hill! Dear Hill Community, Hill School is closed this week for Spring Break! We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus for learning Monday, March 18th. If your family is in need of support with meals over the break, please look at the resources shared below this letter.

Dear Hill Community, We have five school days until Spring Break! Hill School and Austin ISD will be closed March 11th-15th. We hope everyone has fun times with family coming up. We look forward to a busy few days with Sports Days taking place on Thursday and Friday this week!

Dear Hill Community, This week is Cafeteria Appreciation Week. We want to thank Michelle, Evelyn, Margarita, and Gaby for taking such great care of our students and staff. They are an amazing group, and we recognize the value they add to our campus community this week.

Dear Hill Community, Please join me in congratulating this year’s Hill Teacher of the Year Caroline Braun! Ms. Braun has been a phenomenal educator at our school for many years. Huge Dillo Cheer for all she does for Hill School. We also want to recognize and Dillo Cheer our other wonderful finalists: 1st Grade Teacher Jill Clark, 3rd Grade Teacher Jenny Dao, and 4th Grade Teacher Naomi Haynes!
