Dear Hill Community,

We hope you have a nice three-day weekend with your students. As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow (Monday, 9/21). We look forward to seeing everyone again on Tuesday.

It is Teaching Assistants Appreciation Week at Hill School! Thank you to our Special Education and Pre-K Teacher Assistants that support our students and staff each day in so many ways. Thanks for showing them love this week!

We want to thank our community that came to the ACPTA presentation from Lily McClure on Thursday. Dillo Cheer to her for the knowledge she shared with those in attendance! One note that came from the presentation was that we should be more clear about attendance and how it affects our funding. Much of our funding each day for Austin ISD is based on Average Daily Attendance (ADA). Both excused and unexcused absences count against ADA, so when your student is not here, it does affect school funding every time. Please keep students home when they are sick. We also know that life happens. We just wanted to ensure clarity around funding and that attendance matters, regardless of the reason.

¡Esta semana celebramos la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Auxiliares Docentes en Hill School! Gracias a nuestros auxiliares docentes de Educación Especial y Preescolar que apoyan a nuestros estudiantes y personal de tantas maneras cada día. ¡Gracias por demostrarles nuestro cariño esta semana!

Queremos agradecer a nuestra comunidad que asistió a la presentación de Lily McClure sobre la ACPTA el jueves. ¡Un aplauso para ella por el conocimiento que compartió con los asistentes! Un punto importante de la presentación fue la necesidad de ser más claros sobre la asistencia y cómo afecta nuestra financiación. Gran parte de la financiación diaria del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Austin (Austin ISD) se basa en la Asistencia Diaria Promedio (ADA). Tanto las ausencias justificadas como las injustificadas cuentan para la ADA, por lo que cuando su hijo/a no asiste, afecta la financiación escolar. Por favor, mantengan a los estudiantes en casa cuando estén enfermos. Sabemos que surgen imprevistos. Simplemente queríamos aclarar el tema de la financiación y recalcar que la asistencia es importante, sin importar el motivo.
