Dear Hill Community,

We hope everyone enjoys their three-day weekend! There is no school tomorrow (5/25) as Austin ISD is closed for Memorial Day. The last day of school is this Thursday! If you have not yet done so, please ensure you turn in your library books tomorrow to your teacher as the deadline is passed. We will have periodic emails over the summer, but this will be our last scheduled weekly communication for now. We of course will communicate as needed. Dillo Cheer to the end of a very successful school year!

As the district continues to work toward reducing the budget deficit, Hill staffing is projected to be affected. We plan to share a staffing update this upcoming week.

5th Grade Parents/Guardians: Check out the 5th grade weekly email for details on the last day of school. Thursday will end with our annual 5th grade graduation walk that will take place at 2:15 on the last day of school. Families can begin lining the front sidewalk in the carline drive at 2:00 if you are interested in seeing our 5th graders come by. You do not need to come into the building to check-in for this. Parents/guardians will not be able to view inside the building. Once the graduation walk is over, you can walk around to our 5th grade annex area to meet your student for pictures, etc. They can leave after the walk. 

The annual Graduating Senior Walk is this Tuesday, May 26th:  We will host graduating seniors as they return to Hill for an assembly presentation and graduation walk on May 26th. If you have or know an interested senior, they can wear their cap & gown or a college shirt and begin gathering out front. At 7:25 am or so, we will begin bringing in all present seniors to our cafeteria stage area for a special assembly. At the assembly, we will have students quickly share about themselves and a favorite Hill memory. For those not interested in being on stage, we will have those students go to the library to wait. We will also be announcing winners of the Suzanne and Vincent Torres Hill Elementary Alumni Scholarship at the assembly. Following this, we will all move to the library to begin the graduation walk, likely around 8:00 am or so. We look forward to celebrating the graduating class of 2026! Parents/guardians interested can view the assembly in the very back of the gym and view the walk by the yellow brick wall in the front of the school. All visiting parents/guardians should check into the office prior to viewing the events.

Estimada comunidad de Hill: ¡

Esperamos que todos disfruten de su fin de semana largo! Mañana (25/5) no hay clases, ya que el Distrito Escolar Independiente de Austin (Austin ISD) está cerrado por el Día de los Caídos. ¡ El último día de clases es este jueves! Si aún no lo han hecho, asegúrense de entregar sus libros de la biblioteca mañana a su maestro, ya que la fecha límite ha pasado.  Enviaremos correos electrónicos periódicamente durante el verano, pero esta será nuestra última comunicación semanal programada por ahora. Por supuesto, nos comunicaremos según sea necesario. ¡Felicitaciones a los alumnos de Dillo por el final de un año escolar muy exitoso!

La Caminata anual de Graduados de Último Año es este martes 26 de mayo : Recibiremos a los graduados de último año cuando regresen a Hill para una presentación de asamblea y caminata de graduación el 26 de mayo. Si tiene o conoce a un estudiante de último año interesado, puede usar su toga y birrete o una camiseta de la universidad y comenzar a reunirse frente. Alrededor de las 7:25 a. m., comenzaremos a reunir a todos los estudiantes de último año presentes en el escenario de la cafetería para una asamblea especial. En la asamblea, los estudiantes compartirán brevemente sobre sí mismos y un recuerdo favorito de Hill. Quienes no deseen estar en el escenario, deberán esperar en la biblioteca. También anunciaremos a los ganadores de la Beca para Exalumnos de la Escuela Primaria Suzanne y Vincent Torres Hill durante la asamblea. Posteriormente, nos dirigiremos a la biblioteca para comenzar la procesión de graduación, probablemente alrededor de las 8:00 a. m. ¡Esperamos celebrar a la generación de graduados de 2026!
