We finish STAAR testing this week as all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking STAAR Math on Wednesday, April 22nd. Thank you all for setting your students up for success the night before and the morning of. We will dismiss from the assembly promptly on that day just after 7:35 am. We know they are ready to show us all they have learned!
It is Office Staff Appreciation Week! Thank you to Erica Martindale, Jessie Rupert, Liana Rivera, and Teresa Carroll for keeping our school running each and every day. They make it look easy. It is not. Dillo Cheer for the best office team from coast to coast!
It is also 3rd Base Appreciation Week! Thank you to Lucy Chu and her team for running one of the best after school programs in AISD.
This Thursday, April 23rd we would like to invite you to a budget presentation from Principal Drummond at 7:45 am in our Hill Library. We will share information and slides provided by Austin ISD on the ongoing process regarding the SY 26-27 budget and current projected deficit. We hope to see you there if you are interested.
The Annual Dillo Dash Color Run is this Friday: The Dillo Dash is back on Friday, April 24 at 4pm, complete with a Color Run, Health Fair and a Mini Run for future Dillos! Register to join or sign up to volunteer HERE! We do need volunteer help providing supplies, setting up, throwing colored powder, and passing out popsicles so any help you can give is appreciated. Click here for information on our Hill Caregiver Book Club organized by our Hill counseling team. The book is “Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline” by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. The first meeting will take place at 7:45 am this week on April 21st. We encourage our Hill parents and guardians to read and join us.
We will have our annual Human Sexuality and Responsibility Parent Orientation for those interested tomorrow (Monday, April 20th at 3:30 pm) in our Hill Library. Information was sent in a separate letter on the process this year, which has not changed at all from the previous years. You can click here for more information on HSR and the process.
Hill’s Annual Problem-Based Learning Project: You can click here to view and get your student participating in our Hill Problem-Based Learning Activity for spring of 2026. This is a fun way to get students to think critically while supporting our school to be a better place. Projects/presentations will be due at the end of April to teachers if participating. We look forward to our Dillos’ amazing ideas!
PE camps are back, better than ever! Coach Shaw and Coach Liz are excited to bring back the best games of PE right here at HIll. We have two weeks of camps immediately following Dillo Camps.

Proyecto anual de aprendizaje basado en problemas de Hill: Haz clic aquí para ver el proyecto y animar a tu estudiante a participar en nuestra actividad de aprendizaje basado en problemas de Hill para la primavera de 2026. Esta es una forma divertida de fomentar el pensamiento crítico en los estudiantes, a la vez que contribuimos a mejorar nuestra escuela. ¡Los campamentos de educación física han vuelto, mejor que nunca! Los entrenadores Shaw y Liz están encantados de traer de vuelta los mejores juegos de educación física aquí mismo en Hill. Tendremos dos semanas de campamentos inmediatamente después de los campamentos Dillo.
