Hill Library Policies

Pre-K through fourth graders are allowed two book checkouts at a time. Fifth graders are allowed three books at a time as long as their accounts are in good standing. All checkout periods are for two weeks.

  • Mrs. Pustka is happy to make parents their own library account which allows up to 10 book checkouts for a two week period. All she will need to do this is a phone number and the name of your child's classroom teacher.
  • Students may come to the library for checkout any time during the school day with teacher’s permission. Parents may visit the library any day during library operating hours to select books for checkout.
  • When ready to checkout, students should get their library card from behind their teacher’s name in the wooden file boxes and then follow these steps:
    1. Student should scan their library card. (Let the computer know who you are!)
    2. Scan all books and CD, if applicable. (Let the computer know which items
      you are taking out!)
    3. Then press the F5 key on the keyboard OR use the mouse to click on the “checkout to new user” button. (Let the computer know that you are finished!)
