Dear Hill Community,

We are in the final two weeks of school! Please be aware that Monday, May 26th is a student/staff holiday in recognition of Memorial Day. We will send a reminder later this week.

We wanted to provide a staffing update as we are approaching summer. At this moment, we have 100% of our teaching staff returning for the fall. Dillo Cheer! 

• Linda Glass will be leaving Hill after years of service as a clerk, registrar, and attendance specialist. We wish her well and look forward to still seeing her around as a volunteer!

• We want to wish Angela Stamps good luck as she moves out of state with her family. Angela has served as a special education teacher assistant for years at Hill, and we thank her for her support. We are happy to announce Melissa Rivers will be joining Hill as a special education teacher assistant from Davis Elementary. Melissa is a veteran TA and former Hill parent. 

• Roger Taveirne (Coach T) will be re-retiring from Hill after supporting us the last few years as a part-time technology support. We wish him well as he goes full time at Home Depot. 

We will continue to update our community this summer with any updated staffing changes.

Thank you for your hard work this year and previous years. Hill is a better place because of our community of amazing volunteers.

Attention Former Dillo Seniors:  We will host graduating seniors as they return to Hill for an assembly presentation and graduation walk of their own on Tuesday, May 27th. If you have or know an interested senior, they can wear their cap & gown or a college shirt and begin checking into our front office at 7:15 am. We will bring in all present seniors to our cafeteria stage area for a special assembly beginning at 7:35. At the assembly, we will have students quickly share about themselves and a favorite Hill memory. For those not interested in being on stage, we will have those students go to the library to wait. We will also be announcing winners of the Suzanne and Vincent Torres Hill Elementary Alumni Scholarship at the assembly. Following this, we will all move to the library to begin the graduation walk, likely around 8:00 am. We look forward to celebrating the graduating class of 2025! Parents/ guardians interested can view the assembly in the very back of the gym and view the walk by the yellow brick wall in the front of the school. All visiting seniors and parents/guardians should check into the office prior to the events.

Hill students will be turning in their chromebooks and chargers on Tuesday, May 27th. When Chromebooks are turned in, they should NOT have any stickers or tape on them other than the district asset tag.  Chromebooks with stickers will NOT be accepted.  Students will not be getting the same Chromebook next year, so they need to be free of stickers for the next person. If you know your student (especially our older students) have stickers on their technology, thank you for helping them.

¡Estamos en las últimas dos semanas de clases! Les informamos que el lunes 26 de mayo es feriado para estudiantes y personal en conmemoración del Día de los Caídos. Les enviaremos un recordatorio más adelante esta semana.

Queríamos brindarles una actualización sobre el personal, ya que se acerca el verano. Actualmente, el 100% de nuestro personal docente regresa para el otoño. ¡Alegría!

• Linda Glass dejará Hill después de años de servicio como secretaria, registradora y especialista en asistencia. Le deseamos lo mejor y esperamos verla como voluntaria.

• Le deseamos mucha suerte a Angela Stamps en su mudanza fuera del estado con su familia. Angela ha sido asistente de maestra de educación especial durante años en Hill y le agradecemos su apoyo. Nos complace anunciar que Melissa Rivers se unirá a Hill como asistente de maestra de educación especial de la Escuela Primaria Davis. Melissa es una asistente de maestra con amplia experiencia y ex madre de un estudiante de Hill.

• Roger Taveirne (Entrenador T) se jubilará de Hill después de apoyarnos los últimos años como soporte tecnológico a tiempo parcial. Le deseamos lo mejor en su incorporación a Home Depot a tiempo completo.

Gracias por su arduo trabajo este año y años anteriores. Hill es un lugar mejor gracias a nuestra increíble comunidad de voluntarios.

Atención, exalumnos de último año de Dillo : Recibiremos a los estudiantes de último año que se gradúan cuando regresen a Hill para una presentación en la asamblea y su propio paseo de graduación el martes 27 de mayo. Si conoce a algún estudiante de último año interesado, puede ponerse su toga y birrete o una camiseta de la universidad y comenzar a registrarse en nuestra oficina principal a las 7:15 a. m. Llevaremos a todos los estudiantes de último año presentes al área del escenario de la cafetería para una asamblea especial que comenzará a las 7:35 a. m. En la asamblea, los estudiantes compartirán brevemente sobre sí mismos y un recuerdo favorito de Hill. Si no están interesados en subir al escenario, los invitaremos a la biblioteca a esperar. También anunciaremos a los ganadores de la Beca para Exalumnos de la Escuela Primaria Suzanne y Vincent Torres Hill en la asamblea. Después, todos nos trasladaremos a la biblioteca para comenzar el paseo de graduación, probablemente alrededor de las 8:00 a. m. ¡Esperamos celebrar con ansias a la generación de graduados de 2025! Los padres/tutores interesados pueden presenciar la asamblea en la parte trasera del gimnasio y el paseo junto al muro de ladrillos amarillos frente a la escuela. Todos los estudiantes de último año y sus padres/tutores que visiten la escuela deben registrarse en la oficina antes de los eventos.

Los estudiantes de Hill entregarán sus Chromebooks y cargadores el martes 27 de mayo. Al entregar las Chromebooks, no deben tener pegatinas ni cinta adhesiva, excepto la etiqueta de propiedad del distrito. No se aceptarán Chromebooks con pegatinas. Los estudiantes no recibirán la misma Chromebook el próximo año, por lo que deben estar libres de pegatinas para el siguiente año. Si sabe que su estudiante (especialmente los mayores) tiene pegatinas en su dispositivo, gracias por su ayuda.
