Dear Hill Community
Happy Mother’s Day to all celebrating! Parenting is a challenge, but there is no more important job. We appreciate you all and hope you have a restful day.
We have 9 days of school left! We will continue to update you on end of school events as well as what to expect over the summer in our final two letters of the year in the coming weeks.
Attention Former Dillo Seniors: We will host graduating seniors as they return to Hill for an assembly presentation and graduation walk of their own on Monday, May 20th. If you have or know an interested senior, they can wear their cap & gown or a college shirt and begin gathering out front. At 7:25 am or so, we will bring in all present seniors to our cafeteria stage area for a special assembly. At the assembly, we will have students quickly share about themselves and a favorite Hill memory. For those not interested in being on stage, we will have those students go to the library to wait. We will also be announcing winners of the Suzanne and Vincent Torres Hill Elementary Alumni Scholarship at the assembly. Following this, we will all move to the library to begin the graduation walk, likely around 8:00 am or so. We look forward to celebrating the graduating class of 2024! Parents/ guardians interested can view the assembly in the very back of the gym and view the walk by the yellow brick wall in the front of the school. All visiting parents/guardians should check into the office prior to viewing the events.
We wanted to give a reminder about AISD Dress Code expectations that we follow at Hill School. You can click here for the full language. Dress Code currently states these “Basic Principles”:
-
Certain body parts must be covered for all students at all times.
-
Clothes must be worn in a way such that abdomen, genitals, buttocks, breasts, and nipples are fully covered with opaque fabric.
-
All items listed in the “must wear” and “may wear” categories below must meet this basic principle. (these are described at the link)
Thank you for supporting us by ensuring your student comes to school compliant with our policy each day!
Hill is in need of several new members to join our Campus Advisory Council this upcoming fall. In working with this group, you have the opportunity to support our school in many ways, from campus safety to campus priorities. This is a two year commitment but such an important part of our community that helps guide our decision-making throughout the year. You can click here for the application. Please return completed applications to teresa.carroll@austinisd.org.
The next letter will have our last week of school information you need. Have an excellent Sunday!
