Update from Principal Drummond 3/25/24

Dear Hill Community,

We hope you are having a relaxing weekend! As a reminder, there is no school this Friday, March 29th as it is a student and staff holiday.

This week we celebrate International Reading Week at Hill School. Click here to sign your student up to participate or volunteer to read! Our annual Hill Heritage Fashion Parade is this Thursday, March 28th at 7:45 am or so right after a short assembly. Students may dress up in cultural attire and/or wave flags during the parade. Participation is optional but encouraged. We would love to see our Dillos participate! Please also be sure to check out the flier here for our first Hill Family Folk Dancing Night this Thursday at 5:30 pm in the Hill Cafeteria. There is a QR code at the link to RSVP. We look forward to the fun! Lastly, thank you to all of our readers and volunteer organizers that make this a special week on campus.

The Hill Hoopla Fundraiser is around the corner! We always look forward to this fun event that does so much for our PTA and school. You can click here for all the information you need right now. Be sure to mark your calendars for April 5th! Be sure to buy your tickets before the prices go up on April 1st. While you're on the website, grab your Hoopla hat! Your hoopla committee will be out front of the school on Thursday, March 28th in the morning and afternoon selling hats and passing out already purchased merchandise. Also, see below for the updated foodie fest menu. Check it out below!

Hill students will all have the opportunity to observe the total eclipse taking place on the afternoon of April 8th. More information will come on our plan in next week’s letter. Please know that we have secured glasses for all students for safety from AISD so families do not need to provide their own for students. Parents/guardians wishing to view the eclipse on campus with their student(s) will have that opportunity.

We wanted to share the different types of drills and safety protocols we have followed throughout this year. You can click here for reference. Our students have done a phenomenal job to learn and take these seriously.

Below this letter, there is information available from AISD about learning opportunities regarding Special Education services. Have an excellent week!
